About the Homestay
We are a very friendly Canadian-born family who have been providing homestay to international guests from all over the world since 1994.
We are conveniently located within walking distance to public transit, shopping, banks, parks, a library and community centre.
We live in a safe, upperscale neighbourhood in the north end of Toronto. Our home backs onto a charming community park with a small walking path, benches to relax and a basketball park for sports enthusiasts. You are welcome to relax or read a book in our backyard with views of trees and lots of pretty small wild life surrounding you. You'll also enjoy having your breakfast in our beautiful greenhouse kitchen. The surrounding picture windows allow in lots of sunshine, while overlooking the evergreens and ash trees.
I live in my home with my husband and our adorable, friendly cat named Brandy. Whether you are a "cat person" or not, you can't help but fall in love with her...All of our guests do. :)
Please contact me here at homestay.com to let me know if you think you might like to stay with my family while you are in Toronto.
A link to pictures of my home and family will be provided at your request.
Please be advised thattowels are not provided, so please bring your own! We do, however, provide you with toilet tissue, paper towels and cleaning supplies to maintain your personal spaces, and fresh linens with beds made for you just before you arrive. We love meeting and getting to know our guests from all over the world and sometimes we remain friends on Facebook! We respect the private space of your bedroom while you are here...so you can enjoy your privacy. But, we also enjoy a friendly chat when you decide to spend some time in the common area of our home, like the kitchen or living space where you might see us chatting or exercising or watching tv or working at the computer. That is the nice thing about homestay. You never feel alone and you are in a comfy home environment! Your satisfaction is important to us! That is why, it is typical for us to ask you how you're doing and if there's anything you need. Please feel free to tell us if there's anything you need, but, keep in mind, also, what you can and cannot expect in a homestay setting. You may not get the conveniences of an expensive hotel with beds being made daily and fresh towels everyday, but, what you will get is an authentic CANADIAN HOME environment, with people who really do care.
Also, please note, our home is made comfortable with central a/c and, should you feel a touch cool, a portable heater is provided for you to make your room nice and toasty warm. :)
We pride ourselves on having our guests make happy memories of their stay with us while they're here, and we have made many happy memories too of all the wonderful people we've met from all over the world since 1994. :)

About the Area
Toronto is a very multi-cultural busy, bustling city. There are so many sights to see and things to do. We have a beautiful museum (The ROM - Royal Ontario Museum), The Ontario Art Gallery, The Science Centre which has many interactive activities on several different levels. In the summertime, you can enjoy outdoor activities and concerts at our Harbourfront, or take a stroll along the boardwalk in our beach community, with it's many interesting and unique shops along Queen Street. If you are adventurous and like crazy, upside-down rollercoaster rides, you'll love Paramount Canada's Wonderland, which is located within easy access just north of the city. You can go up to the top of our CN Tower and see our beautiful city from way up high, or take in a Bluejay's baseball game or Raptor's Basketball game at the Air Canada Centre. We're also proud of our new, awesome Ripley's Aquarium! In Toronto, there is truly something for everybody. We'll be glad to suggest activities for you which will suit your interests.

It was a so cold basement room, had no towel of washroom, lots of hairs on a bed.
Even the host has worked out on running machine of that basement when I was not there.
Home away from home
Dear home stayers
I stayed with rhonda and irv for three days and they always made me feel welcome. If I had a question or needed directions they provide the answer or even a self drawn map for me. Thornhill might be a little bit outside of Toronto but you still will be in the city in about 45 minutes. Taking the bus and subway downtown feels like you are actually living in toronto and not just being a tourist passing through. Rhonda and irv are two great open and loving people who welcome you into their home with open arms. And not to forget Brandy. The cat who once maybe was a dog ;). She wants you to rub her belly and cuddle her day and night. All in all I had a really great time in toronto and it was a great start into my Canada adventure.
Even so that I will stay with rhonda and irv again in a couple of days. It is a great place to stay with to amazing people welcoming you in Toronto.
I stayed there for two nights. I am happy with my choice. the couple are very nice. the room was clean. You only need to have sleepers with you since you can not go with the shoes in the house, otherwise nothing to complane.
