If you are coming to Montreal to learn English, you can live comfortably with Hilda and Peter in their house in central Montreal, practice speaking English at home every day and learn more about life in Canada. Hilda teaches English in a school for new Canadians and Peter teaches folkloric dancing in a community centre. Hilda loves to go cross country skiing in winter and kayaking and hiking in summer. Peter and Hilda invite the homestay guests to share these activities if they want. You will have your own private bedroom, and will share the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, living room, garden, washing machine and dryer. Hilda and Peter live very close to the Snowdon Metro Station, on a quiet tree-lined street near many convenient shops, cafes and bus routes. High speed internet is included. You will keep your own room clean but a housekeeper comes once a week to help clean the common areas. Meals are not included (we don't give breakfast, lunch or supper) but we supply basic items like sugar, flour, spices, soap, towels and sheets. It will be easy for you to buy the food you want and to cook in the shared kitchen. PLEASE NOTE: the homestay fee has 2 parts. One part, paid to Hilda, is $690 CAD for 30 days. You can pay for the first 30 days when you arrive in our home. The other part is the fee you will pay online to HOMESTAY.COM website for their service. That fee stays with HOMESTAY.COM, and is separate from the fee that you will pay Hilda. We do not provide meals but we happily share the kitchen, and it's easy for you to buy your food. A supermarket and many shops and cafés are 2 minutes walk from our home. Our home is on a quiet street. Please keep your room clean, and clean the kitchen after you use it.

I had a great time staying with Hilda and Peter. They are amazing hosts and made me feel very welcome. The house is very well equipped and the location is perfect, super close to the metro station and you can easily get anywhere in Montreal!

Peter and Hilda are so kind and warmhearted.
At the beginning, I booked the room for one month, but I felt like home with them, so I decided to stay longer.

I did many things while I stayed in Hilda and Peter's home.
I enjoyed going for a walk with Hilda, visiting Peter's dance class, sitting around the fire in the garden, as well as talking with Hilda and other housemates while cooking. Everyone including other housemates was warm and kind. I felt really comfortable staying there.
Of course house was always clean, and necessary stuffs like linen, desk, closet, and washing machine et cetera were already equipped.
If you are going to stay in Canada and want to have best memories with people, Hilda and Peter's house will be your first choice!

I had a great time with Hilda and Peter. They are very friendly and helpful, and I felt right at home from the first moment. My room had everything I needed to enjoy my stay.
Hilda's house is clean, quiet, and close to everything I needed. It is only two minutes from the Snowdon Metro (Orange and Blue lines) and minutes from all of the shops and cafes such as Metro, Second Cup Cafe, Starbucks, and others.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
