Hotel Alternatives in Prague

Mary and her son from the United States spent some time this Summer travelling around Europe. She stayed with Homestay host Gautier in his apartment in Central Prague. It was her first time booking on Homestay.com and it suited her wish to be as thrifty as possible with a Double Room only €48 per night.

I traveled with my son through Europe and had a variety of overnight experiences. We stayed in hostels, apartments and we stayed with a family host through another website. We tried to be as thrifty as possible and also change the pace a little.

Our stay in Prague was great. It was our first homestay.com. It was really nice to have a kitchen and washer which the host kindly allowed us to use and make ourselves at home.

What did you do in Prague?

We started with a walking tour through Prague which gave us things to explore in depth throughout the next few days. What surprised me was that Gautier showed us even more beautiful views to see by a short walk from his apartment.

This is Gautier our host and one of the special views of the spectacular city of Prague.

Any tips or advice for other travellers?

We not only enjoyed walking over the bridge, visiting museums and the castles, but along the side of the river there are markets with all sorts of delicious food and beers. It seems to be a hangout for happy hour.

How was your experience with your host?

Of course being in a different country is always a novel experience. Homestay.com was also a new experience. We really enjoyed our host and the first thing he did was provide us with a map and showed us where everything is, the tourist traps, good places to eat and more. Like I said before he also showed us there were spectacular views of the castle and the city which we would never have found ourselves. Gautier also helped take care of my son when he came down with the flu. Gautier made him tea with ginger and lemon which my son and I both appreciated.
