We are lovely family with 3 kids, our location is excellent. close to all transport. we have extra bedrooms so looking forward to nice friendly house mates. The two bedrooms available are in a self contained flat downstairs with its own bathroom.

About the Area
Our house is located in a quiet street with convenient access to everything. Under 3 minutes walk to bus stations for bus to CBD, Chatswood, North Sydney, Macquarie and Ryde. City is only 15 minutes away by bus. Otherwise Artarmon train station is 10 minutes on foot. 5-10 minutes walk to Lane Cove village with supermarkets, shops, cafes and pubs. Easy walking to aquatic centre, oval and plenty of gyms.

The room actually has many gaps in the walls and door so light floods into the room whenever anyone uses the bathroom/kitchen. It was very hard to sleep here as the family was very noisey in the mornings and other guest would cook and talk after midnight.
Showers were restricted to 5min, the bathroom/shower was very mouldy, and I wasn't allowed to shave in the bathroom.
The entire house is left unlocked all day, and I was lied to about having a lock on the door to protect my money/belongings.Host reply
These are facts:
1/You didn't pay the rent until one week after the extension, although you were notified multiple times to extend your stay.
2/ We are sorry about my 3 kids sometimes making noise but they are strictly no music allowed after 9pm.
3/ There is a written suggestion on the bathroom door, (not a restriction). We do recommended that using the bathroom or shower no longer than 10 mins . We do want all guests to respect the Australia water and environment.
4/ We now have all those gaps fixed but it would be a lot more appreciated if you let us know during your 7 weeks' stay.
5/ We are in a very safe area. We have very strong security cameras mas and also insurance to protect our family and guests. however, there is a lock on your door if you requested in person.January 2024
Ada is a lovely host. She is approachable, easy to talk to, and was very helpful during our stay. This is also a great location, as it is close to the Lane Cove shops and restaurants, to bus stops, and is less than 30 minutes from the CBD via public transport. It is also a beautiful suburb with a lot of trees. There's an aquatic centre nearby for those who love to swim.

A very friendly host with lovely family. She would also listen to you and make your stay easier. The location is wonderful as the bus stop is only one to two minutes walk from the place, perfect for those who need to work in that area.

Ada was a wonderful host, she was very helpful and very nice. You could always ask her questions and she would do a lot to help you. She would offer to take you places if you liked to see more of the city. The house was very close to the bus station and shops and supermarkets. I liked my stay there :)

I was kept waiting at the door for more than 2 hours when I checked-in in the rain. Lucky my uber driver was fantastic. He waited with me.
The place was nothing like the picture. It was quite run down.
But that besides...when she finally arrived home, I was shown my room. There were no bedsheets nor blankets. I had to ask for them. I was told it was raining and they couldn't dry but was given a set anyway. It smelt dirty.
The carpets has stains & feels sticky when stepped on. So I had to keep my shoes on all the time.
On my first night, while I opened the bathroom door, a cockroach fell on me!
I booked for a week, but have discussed intentions to stay on for a month or more. But after all that I immediately look for another place to move to.Host reply
I am sorry we are not a hotel and do not offer 24 hour check-ins. I told herI would be waiting for her at home for two hours after lunch time, before I needed to go out. She arrived hours later so she had to wait until we get home. I am afraid this is how a homestay works.
This guest tried to use her review as leverage to bargain for a lower price. When it was not agreed to, she wrote up all these negative reviews, which is not true. Bedsheets and blankets are provided and we always try our best to keep our homestay clean and tidy.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
