We are retired, Valerie after many years as a nurse and Edward working with the Queensland Government Security.
We have had a wonderful experience over many years, hosting students and guest from all over the world.
We have recently downsized since retiring to live at the Gold Coast.
We present a new modern home with all the latest equipment, facilities and located in central Robina - walking distance less than 200 m
Our home has 2 guest bedrooms with aircon, new high quality double beds. We provide quality bed linen including towels etc
Tea and coffee making facilities provided in room
A modern fully equipped guest bathroom with full-size bath, shower and toilet also a separate powder room located on the ground floor is provided for guests' convenience
Bathroom products are provided with hairdryer etc
Guests' own sitting room is available with unlimited WIFi, TV and Netflix
Includes a small refrigerator for guests, fruit and drinks etc

About the Area
Our home is in the heart of Robina and is 200 m/5 minute walking distance by path around lake to Robina Shopping Centre - a large shopping complex which incorporates many restaurants, coffee houses, designer shops, Event Movies, McDonalds and heaps more.
We are 10 minutes from the Gold Coast surf beaches. Bond University and higher learning facilities are close by our home. Seaworld, Movieworld, Dreamworld and Coolangatta International Airport is about a 20 minutes drive. Our home is less than 5 minutes walking distance to restaurants and train/bus station, stadium, library and hospital.
The public transport is excellent with regular bus services to Broadbeach, Southport and Surfers Paradise, Brisbane, Brisbane international airport and Gold Coast airport also to the Bond and Griffith universities.
There are many clubs, fitness clubs, restaurants, bars, bikeways and walking tracks in this area all within walking distance
In the hills nearby is the beautiful Lamington National Rainforest Park, Springbrook and Tamborine Mountain famous for beautiful bushwalking and nature observation.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is nearby to come close to Australia wildlife where you are able to view, cuddle and feed kangaroos, koalas etc.

It was a beautiful experience living with Valerie & Ted. Loving and caring couple. I totally enjoyed my stay,they were kind and friendly .The room was clean and very well kept,I would love to stay there anytime I visit Gold Coast again.

Such a delightful Homestay experience. Myself and my partner came to QLD from WA and would couldn’t have asked for better hosts than Val and Ted. This was an unforgettable experience for us both and we will forever be grateful for all the help and love we received during our stay. Val and Ted ensured we felt at home and weren’t just our hosts but friends during our stay who we could enjoy a meal with, sit and have a chat or most importantly watch the sport with on the weekends ( and we watched a lot of everything from AFL to Rugby and the Cricket). We will miss seeing their bright and bubbly faces each day and hope to bump into them again in the future.

Valerie and Ted are a lovely couple and the best of hosts you could ask for. They are very accommodating, and always offer you breakfast. tea and coffee in the mornings. They make sure everything is okay with your room and always check on your well being. I have decided to stay on with them as I have really enjoyed my time with them. Highly recommended to stay here !!

Cannot give stars to two difficult hosts.
We are paying for the room and they have offered us a rule that we are not allowed to stay in the room all the time. This was not presented to us prior to our stay. So we could not rest on our day off and tried to force ourselves to go out.
And finally they were unreasonably demanding about the PAYMENT. They threatened to make us pay on a different date than what was stated in the email before we arrived.
I cannot give stars to those who are hurting our humanity and bad-mouthing us with too many rules, to the point of demanding unfair payments.Host reply
These boys left our home after refusing to pay the the amount agreed - 4 weeks payment. I believe the language difference was a huge factor. They thought we were being dishonest for some reason and did not seem to understand.
We made the mistake of not collecting the full payment on arrival and agreeing to stager the payments for their convenience.
Our home is of high standard and we are very accomodating. These two boys were extremely difficult and were happy to sleep all day. They worked about 3 days in the time they were here. I did their washing, cooked meals etc. It became difficult to clean their room because they were reluctant to leave the room.
It is very disappointing to have had such difficult young young men in our home.
There is always a first time. I guess we have always had such lovely guests before and since this unfortunate experience.
So this is a lesson to us and other hosts make sure you receive your full payment on arrival. Also we have a deposit paid on booking by Homestay for security of which we are is very appreciative.March 2023

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
