Our home is located in the suburb of Revesby, South of Sydney. It’s just me and my husband in this house so we thought of accepting homestay students or travellers. There are rooms available. One room has double size bed and the other one has queen size bed, two rooms both are twin shared with two single beds. The house is immaculate, it's an open plan area. There's backyard with Alfresco. My husband and I love to play scrabble on our relaxing time. I love to cook while my husband loves gardening.
Hosting or accommodating international students, travellers or working holiday visa holders became our enjoyment as we get to meet a lot of people from different countries in the world, learning a little bit of their languages and their cultures. The hardest and saddest part is when they’re already finished of their studies , when they’re already leaving Sydney and going back to their countries. We get so attached with each other. We started hosting since April of 2018.

About the Area
Our house is located in the South of Sydney, in a suburb that is peaceful and quiet area. The bus stops are just around the corners. The train station is walkable approximately 7-10 minutes. The trains here are express in going to the airports and to the city that will take you to the CBD 30 minutes.

When your trash bin is full it is your responsibility to throw in the red or yellow bin.
No guests or girlfriend/boyfriend allowed to enter in your bedroom.

Menchi's spot is incredible! Her houses, are clean, spacious, in a convenient location, very walkable to train/bus stations, woolworths/coles, and restaurants around the area.
Menchi and her family are also incredibly kind and sweet and are very accomodating. Would definitely come back here in the future!

I have an excellent experience staying at Menchie's. Menchie is a great host and she makes sure that I am comfortable in the house.
The house has everything that makes living in Sydney possible. In the rare times when I need something extra, I just ask and usually have it in two days.
Location is great --- the train station (with express and airport services) and the two supermarkets are just 10 minutes away by foot.

Menchie Homestay was a very pleasant stay. Menchie was kind and respectful, and the house was very clean and comfortable. It’s located in a convenient area, ideal for a quiet and relaxing visit. I highly recommend it.

Living at Menchie’s homestay has been an incredible experience. Menchie has such a big heart, and her hospitality made me feel like I was part of her family. The warmth and care she provided during my stay were truly remarkable. I will never forget that and will definitely stay in touch. Highly recommend her homestay to anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable environment.

It is a lovely experience, the host is pleasant and kind, and everyone is generally very respectful and friendly. The area is lively, near multiple shops, a bus stop, and train station, lovely neighbourhood. A home away from home, highly recommend it to everyone! :))

Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Albert Lodge. However, it may be a good place for those who can afford it financially.
Good Points
The house is big and spacious, with a bathtub and a hairdryer, and the rooms are furnished. Revesby is a safe area. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and supermarkets (Cloes, Woolworths). I was able to meet multinational housemates and hang out with them.Bad Points
The rent was high compared with other share houses in the same area. A light breakfast was included in the contract but was not provided. There were times when guests could not use the kitchen and dining table freely due to the host's convenience. The host didn't clean the shared space (bathroom, toilet, stairs, floor) so I had to clean it. I was offended when the host made a statement comparing the English skills of non-native English-speaking guests. I was also shocked when the host told me which guests she liked and which she didn’t like.Japanese below

同じ地域の他のシェアハウスと比べて家賃が高かった。契約上、軽い朝食が含まれているのに提供されなかった。ホストの都合でゲストがキッチンと食卓を自由に使えない時があった。ホストが共有スペース(お風呂場、トイレ、階段、床)を掃除しなかったため、私が掃除をしないといけなかった。ホストが英語を母語としないゲスト同士の英語力を比べる発言があり、気分を害された。またホストが彼女の好きなゲストと嫌いなゲストを私に伝えた時、ショックを受けた。退去する数日前にホストからハート五つのレビューを書いてとお願いされた。過去のゲストがみんな高評価をつけているのは、退去前にホストから半ば強制的に良いレビューを書くように言われたからだと考えられる。Host reply
I’ve been hosting international students and travellers for the past 6 years. This is my first time to receive such reviews like this! I always make a point that all my guests are in good hands, they’re comfortable and they are safe and enjoy their stay. This girl is not polite,, she bangs all the doors, the fridge, the pantry, her door. She doesn’t know how to close the doors gently! With regards to the usage of my kitchen, I let her use the kitchen but not when I’m cooking she has to wait for her turn! And when she’s the one cooking I wait for her to finish cooking! We can not user the kitchen at the same time. All my guests are allowed to use the dining area anytime they want. About the cleaning.. she only vacuumed once during her one and a month stay. I wasn’t able to clean that week because I wasn’t feeling well. She volunteered to vacuum I didn’t ask her to do it.
I never expected that from a Japanese person. I admit that I prefer Japanese students because they’re polite, nice and friendly and good people. It’s a contradiction of Mana! She admits that she’s not the typical Japanese. She just enters to my other house without my permission, without even knocking at the door or pressing the doorbell. Even if she knows the code She doesn’t live in that house! People staying there get surprised that she’s already inside the house.May 2023
Menchie is a genuine gem, very kind-hearted, accommodating, helpful, friendly and welcoming. You won’t be disappointed! The place is comfy, furnished with all appliances you need. The house is 10 mins from the train station, shops…It takes you 35 to 50mn to go the city by train. I highly recommend this homestay. More than that, I would call it a real boarding house.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
