I live by myself with 3 Jack Russells, who are very much a part of the family. My daughter has moved out so her room is vacant.It is a lovely room with a single bed, and window looking onto the garden. I was a chef during my career, so am able to cook an cuisine and treats for my tenant. The suburb is pretty and leafy, with lovely parks close by. he train station is 5 min walk from home. During the week the trains arrive every 5 min, and is 15-20 min from the city (Melbourne Central, Flinders St). I have been a Homestay mother for 2.5 years and have given a home to many different nationalities.
Because the room is very floral/girlie, girl tenants are more suitable. There is one bathroom, and a separate toilet. The garden is lovely, and there is barbecue area. I am a very social person, and I frequently have friends for meals. Everyone is welcome.

About the Area
Newport is a quiet family area. The neighbours are very friendly. There are local shops for daily needs. There are plenty of coffee shops. The library with friendly staff is 4 min walk. The large bush park and lake is 15 min walk away. Newport is easily accessible and close to everywhere, with lots of ethnic areas nearby showcasing various cultures and food.

Close toilet seat after use and before flushing. Do not wear back pack inside. Let me know your activities before they happen, and call me to let me know when you will be home.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
