Our large Queenslander home (built in the 1950s) is cool, comfortable and has inspiring views of the mountains. This family home is spacious and guests have access to a modern kitchen, laundry facilities, lounge, and a large timber deck overlooking a tropical garden.
With three bathrooms and six bedrooms, this large and very comfortable home can easily accommodate up to 10 people without us feeling crowded.
The home is well positioned only 4 km from the CBD, 2 minutes’ walk to public transport and 5 minutes’ walk to a large shopping centre where you can purchase just about anything you need. Guests have easy access to street parking. The airport is a short 15-20 minute drive (depending on traffic) and transfers to and from the airport can often be arranged.
We are long time residents in Cairns and we are happy to share our local knowledge, stories, and home with you. I am a psychologist (currently working from home) and Kerry is a retired engineering surveyor / cartographer and visual artist.
Our upstairs deck overlooks a leafy green garden, has views of the mountains, and is a great place for dinner and a glass of wine while enjoying the cool of the evening.
We enjoy sharing our hospitality with others and look forward to meeting you soon!

It was a great stay! Anne and Kerry were welcoming, the room was clean and cozy, and the location was peaceful, with a few bus stops to the city.

Anne & Kerry were wonderful hosts. They made us feel like we were at home. We had many interesting conversations about family history, travel, and things in general. Their home is large, comfortable and easy walking distance to the bus stops (public transport is excellent in Cairns). We highly recommend this accommodation.

It was really nice staying with Anne and her husband Kerry, both were really lovely and welcoming, chaty and they always helped us with everything we needed.

We stayed 15 days at this excellent homestay. The place is conveniently close to the bus stop where you can catch the 141, 142, 143 and 150 into Cairns Central for a $3 Single Adult ticket. A weekly ticket costs $24 and it's half price if you're a senior. Also there's the Earlville Shopping Town which is about 800 metres west. Here they have Coles, Woolworths , Target, Big W, the Reject Shop, Terry White Chemist and a fruit shop.
About 300 metres away on Mulgrave Road is the Cazalys sports club. If you're staying here a week or more then it's probably worth joining. The cost was $5 for one year membership.
The room that we had, had a double bed and a single bed and could accommodate 3 people. The kitchen and bathroom was shared with the household. The accommodation is a big airy two storey residence with the homestay room upstairs. There's a well-equipped kitchen and downstairs is the laundry with a front loader washing machine.
If you are booking a tour, then you can specify the pick up point to be the Cairns Southside International, which is close by on Mulgrave Road.
The hosts, Anne and Kerry were very helpful and friendly and pretty much left us alone to our own devices.
Unfortunately my travelling companion caught COVID-19 and so she had to be isolated in the room for a week, but apart from that everything was great.July 2022

To stay with the family of Anne and her husband Kerry was like being at home in a new country. They were very kind and nice to us and helped us to deal with issues a tourist can have.
Our room was very clean. The aircondition system worked well.
We had all that we need to enjoy our vaccation.
Many thanks again to Anne and her family.

Anne and Kerry were most gracious hosts. The room was large and had an air conditioner, which is important if you visit Cairns in their summer. They were very helpful with information and had a lovely view from their veranda. The room could have fit 3 people. Their daughter is very nice as well. Anne took me for a drive with beautiful views of the city and ocean and a serene lake.
